Dr Aleksandra Trenk is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research, Faculty of Biology, Jagiellonian University. She obtained her MSc in Neurobiology and PhD in Biology from Jagiellonian University. During her doctoral studies, she completed a research internship at the Max Planck Institute in Cologne, Germany. Her research focuses on the complex neuropeptide systems that govern stress responses and social behaviors. Using electrophysiological, immunohistochemical, and molecular approaches, she aims to uncover the neuronal mechanisms underlying anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
